European Union: VAT e-commerce package deadline postponed
The European Commission has postponed the implementation date of the EU’s VAT e-commerce package. The measures were originally scheduled to go into effect 1 January 2021, but the implementation date has been moved to 1 July 2021. The postponement was proposed because of disruptions caused by the coronavirus pandemic and is intended to give member states and businesses more time to prepare for the new VAT rules.
