Argentina: Knowledge Economy Regime takes effect

Argentina’s Knowledge Economy Regime (KER) entered into force 1 January 2020. KER grants significant tax cuts to resident entities engaged in the following commercial activities that amount to 70 percent of the local turnover:

• Professional services
• Nanotechnology and nanoscience
• Biotechnology
• Digital computer software

To take advantage of the regime, qualifying businesses must register with the KER Registry. These provisions will remain until 31 December 2029.
