Austria: Digital tax bill approved

The Austrian Parliament has passed the Digital Tax Act 2020. The Act levies a 5 percent digital tax on domestic online advertising services. Companies subject to the tax must have a global turnover of at least 750 million euros and generate at least 25 million euros in domestic sales from online advertising. The new law is set to take effect on 1 January 2020.
