Operational Training Lead

The purpose of the Operational Training Lead is to ensure all employees at Radius have the required knowledge to effectively complete their responsibilities. The Operational Training Lead must manage all training activity, be it systems/applications, internal process and procedure and/or technical knowledge to achieve this objective.

Major Responsibilities: 
  • Manage and co-ordinate activity of training team in all locations throughout Radius. (80% + of this requirement is in India.)
  • Oversee training needs analysis (via assessment, stakeholder consultation and case management/ helpdesk ticketing system) to prioritise short and long-term training objectives.
  • Assist in the creation and development of new courses and all supplemental materials ahead of new system and process implementation (although this will be mostly facilitated by the Training Content Coordinator, or TCC).
  • Review and report maintenance requirements for existing curriculum of courses to the TCC, ensuring accuracy of processes and legislation.
  • Schedule monthly training interventions for new starters and refresher training for all required.
  • Liaise with heads of departments and line managers to determine specific courses and material required to ensure the company provides a high quality service for new and existing clients at whatever locations.
  • Day to day management of the training team staff.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of courses created and delivered by the training team to ensure that training provided is meeting requirements and delivering the necessary skills and expected outcomes.
  • Implement innovative and scalable learning solutions that can be rolled out effectively to an expanding internationally distributed team of accounting professionals and advisory specialists.
  • Maintain training records for all courses completed and future courses to be scheduled.
  • Participate in instructor led training sessions as required (both in person and remotely).
Additional Responsibilities: 
  • Some foreign travel may be required.
Minimum Qualifications: 
  • Excellent experience in managing people.
  • Good accountancy experience with 3 to 5 years' practical experience including accounting systems exposure.
  • 3+ years' experience in coordinating a training team.
  • Experience of providing training to accountancy staff from entry level upwards.
  • Experience of analysing and evaluating training and development interventions.
  • Hands-on delivery of learning events and measuring return on investment.
  • Experience of writing reports and explaining them to others.
  • Accountancy qualification preferred.
Skills, Abilities and Other Requirements: 
  • Knowledge of the function of the training department, training options available and differing learning and training styles and technology.
  • Knowledge of the ADDIE model for instructional design, a systematic approach to training with an appreciation of the challenges trainers face in a cross cultural environment and an understanding of the best practice learning and development lifecycle.
  • Proficient at documenting processes and procedures whilst liaising with SMEs in an efficient but accurate manner.
  • How to structure, deliver and evaluate a learning event.
  • Ideally accountancy qualified with a broad understanding of the range of services that we provide.
  • Experience of training in Accounting and ERP systems (preferably SunSystems, Intacct & Agresso).
  • A working knowledge of other specialisms delivered by the Company.
  • Knowledge of HR and the strategic developments in the HR/L&D world.
  • Able to develop policy and strategy.
  • An ambassador of training and development; able to promote new approaches to learning and development as appropriate.
  • Excellent consultancy skills with the ability to use training to change and organise organisational development.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (especially PowerPoint & Excel).
  • Skilled in the use of computer aided course development for documentation production.
  • Responsible, reliable, accountable, ethical and able to instil a clear sense of purpose in others.
  • Proficient in leading a wide range of training courses (from compliance, processes, technical & systems).
  • Vast experience in preparing a consistently high quality of documentation.
  • Able to communicate with staff at all levels.
  • Able to facilitate/lead meetings and training session dealing with demanding or technical issues.
  • Can present information in a format which will assist understanding for mixed ability groups.
  • Proactive, with drive and commitment.
  • Effective at managing client and stakeholder relationships.
  • Able to think strategically and at an individual level.
